| Through many efforts—whether
hands-on work with high school students, journalists and filmmakers
or as active members of professional oganizations—the people
of the College of Communications regularly put Penn State's mission
of teaching, reseach and public service into practice.
Numerous outreach efforts make the public service
portion of that mission an almost daily reality. Those activities

spring semester each year.
Distance Education
Institutes
for High School/Middle School Students, which provide
hands-on, on-campus opportunities for students interested in filmmaking
and journalism. Regular offerings include the Institute for Middle
School Journalists, the Institute for High School Journalists, the
Institute for High School Filmmakers, the Institute for High School
Radio Broadcasting and the Institute for High School Advanced Photojournalists.
