Rick Telander, Chicago Sun-Times sports writer, discussed about the rights of journalists to protect their sources, specifically San Francisco Chronicle writers Mark Fainara-Wada and Lance Williams, during a session moderated by Robert Richards, professor of communications and law and co-director of the Pennsylvania Center for the First Amendment.

Among the many things Telander addressed were:
What he thinks may happen to the writers.
What the case could do to investigative journalism.
His support of a Shield Law.
How journalism has changed during his career.
