Ronald Smith

Ronald Smith joined the Department of Advertising/Public Relations after teaching two years full-time at Oklahoma State University as a visiting instructor of advertising and visual communications.

At Oklahoma State, Smith developed and taught courses in advertising copywriting, advertising layout and design, graphic communications and professional portfolio.

Smith, a graphic designer, has accumulated 10 years of experience in advertising, graphic design and associated areas of communication such as public relations and journalism. In just a few months at Penn State, he has done a good job conveying his experience in a classroom setting.

For four-and-a-half years Smith was employed by a design-staffing agency, Aquent, where he served as a senior-level communications designer. At Aquent Smith worked with clients such as: AARP, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Discovery Channel and America’s Community Bankers.
Before Aquent, Smith worked as a production artist at a Cleveland-based recruitment ad agency, Nationwide Advertising Service.

At Penn State, Smith teaches a creative strategies course.
