Ann Kuskowski

Prior to joining Penn State, Ann Kuskowski alternated between careers in higher education and television news producing. She spent 10 years in broadcast television at two different NBC affiliates: WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh and WFMJ-TV in Youngstown, Ohio. In Pittsburgh, Ann worked as an on-air talent and produced a four-hour Saturday morning newscast. At WFMJ, she served as the executive producer, overseeing four daily newscasts as well as in-depth news specials and remote broadcasts including the local LPGA tournament.

Ann has also been a faculty member at two different universities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. At Lock Haven University, Ann taught broadcast journalism, programming and non-fiction writing as well as advised the student-run radio station. While at Youngstown State University, she taught several telecommunications courses while serving the university liaison to the local PBS television station. It was in that role that she produced two different documentaries on jazz and a group of visiting Chinese artists.

Since coming to Penn State, Ann has taught courses in both the Journalism and Telecommunications departments. She is also the faculty advisor to “The Final Cut, ” a student-produced magazine show as well as Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT).
