Michel Haigh

Michel M. Haigh brings a mix of practical and teaching experience to her position in the Department of Advertising/Public Relations.

Along with more than six years as a public relations writer, editor, designer and Web designer, she has co-authored more than 20 conference presentations, five of which have been recognized with the “Top Paper” award. She has published more than 15 articles in journals such as Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Communication Monographs, Communication Research, and Communication Quarterly.

She is a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), the International Communication Association (ICA), the National Communication Association (NCA), and the Midwest Association for Public Opinion Research (MAPOR).

In 2007, she earned first place in the Promising Professors competition coordinated by the Mass Communication & Society Division of the AEJMC.
