Helping Students

Many opportunities and programs exist for alumni from the College of Communications to help students. Most provide students the opportunity to hone their practical communication skills and gain experience. For information on any of the programs, please contact Mike Poorman, manager of alumni relations, by phone (814) 865-8801 or by e-mail, mqp7@psu.edu. The programs include:

Career Panelists

Mock Interview Program
Conduct mock interviews with students when you visit campus to help students prepare for the professional world.

Mini-Externshps
Allow a student interested in your field to spend one full or half day with you doing a mini-externship to help the student gain experience in the workplace that may influence their career and educational decisions.

Speakers Bureau
Speakers Bureau of Alumni. Increase your visibility and sphere of influence by volunteering to speak to Penn State groups. Your name, area of expertise, location and willingness to speak will be listed in the database. Please e-mail Mike Poorman with this information at mqp7@psu.edu
